Jim Kingry
PASTOR
Jim has been at Fern Creek since June of 2018 after pastoring for 31 years in Southern Kentucky. He is passionate in serving Jesus Christ; not only by way of shepherding and leading the local church, but also through serving in recovery ministries, prison ministries, the Emmaus Walk, and in homebound and overseas missions.
Radically saved on a mission trip to Jamaica at the age of 22, Jim enjoys seeing persons discover their gifts and talents to serve God through missions and ministries both in and beyond the local church. Jim also believes that the local church is the Body of Christ and the Family of God—a place to to be loved, to belong, and to become like Christ in heart and mind.
Jim has been married to his beautiful wife, Shelia, for over 31 years. They have two children—Kristen and Kerry. Kristen is in residency in Family Medicine in Allentown, PA and is married to Juan Carlos Cordova. Their son, Kerry, is a recent graduate from WKU and is about to enter grad school.
For fun, Jim enjoys playing golf, working out, and rooting on several of his favorite sports teams, but most of all, Jim loves the Lord and people. He invites you to come and experience the love of Jesus Christ through the Fern Creek family!
Brother Jim, my name is Conway Witten, I used to belong to fern creek from 1999 until 2004. I was I Nat Peters Sunday school class. I also want to high school with Greg and Arlene Tate.
In 2004 I moved to Shelbyville and went to centenary Methodist church, I moved back to Louisville in 2018 and belongs to Bethany Methodist. I like coming back to fern creek every so often to see friends and find out what is going on.
You are doing a good job and I enjoy coming back to visit.
