Bitcoin Donations

Fern Creek UMC is happy to accept Bitcoin (and even Ethereum and Bitcoin Cash) donations! In fact, we were one of the very first churches (maybe the first United Methodist Church?) to accept bitcoin.

Depending on your specific situation, making a charitable donation of bitcoins may provide tax advantages over other contribution methods.  Please note, however, that FCUMC cannot provide you with specific tax advice, and initial IRS guidance (PDF) on bitcoin and other digital currencies may be subject to change at any time. Please consult your tax advisor.

Please use one of the links below to send a bitcoin donation. Note that all your contact details are completely optional, however, if you send a donation anonymously, please understand that we will not be able to provide a receipt for tax purposes. If you would like help with making a bitcoin donation, please contact Tim Totten at tim@ferncreekumc.org.

Option 1 (preferred): Use this link to donate bitcoin via our BTCPay server. If you use this method, we securely store your donation in bitcoin, expecting it to grow over time, funding the church’s mission for the long term.

Option 2: Use this link to donate bitcoin (as well as Bitcoin Cash, Ethereum and a few other cryptocurrencies) via BitPay. If you use this method, your donation is instantly converted to USD to fund the church’s near-term activities.
