Our Program

The goal of our program is to provide children with a safe and loving environment where fun, fellowship, and growth can take place. We follow a specific curriculum with math, literacy, and social-emotional focus to prepare our kids for kindergarten. This is accomplished through a balance of active and quiet activities geared to the needs of the group and each individual child’s abilities.

Days and Time of Operation

The Parents’ Day Out Program is in session on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., September through May. We follow the Jefferson County Board of Education calendar for elementary public schools, including holidays, days for inclement weather, and teacher “in-service” days.

Certified Staff

Our Director, Patty Hutzelman, is certified by the Cabinet for Human Resources to provide child care in a daily child-care facility.

The staff persons are carefully selected for their genuine attitude of concern and respect for children and are trained in First Aid, CPR, and receive additional training annually as required by the licensing organization.

Security

Children will not be permitted to leave with anyone other than the person(s) indicated on the registration form. We ask parents/guardians to keep all contact information up-to-date and have your ID Card on had at dismissal.

Varied Creative Activities

The preschool curriculum includes art, music, dramatic play, stories and books, science, block building, and tactile activities to help children prepare for kindergarten.

Discipline

It is believed that prevention is the best form of discipline. No child shall ever be disciplined physically. “Time out” is utilized as a last resort.

Snacks / Lunch

Snacks are provided each day.  Children will have breakfast and lunch at home.

Health Regulations

As required by the State of Kentucky, an up-to-date immunization certificate for each child must be kept on file at the church. We follow CDC, KY State, and United Methodist Conference guidelines regarding Covid 19 and/or variants. We are checking temperatures upon arrival, children who have a fever need to stay home until 24-hour fever free; the same applies to diarrhea and vomiting. We are following strict hand-washing and sanitizing procedures to keep everybody safe. Specific information is available in the Parent Handbook.

Fees / Daily Rates

There is a non-refundable $110 registration fee each year.

The daily rates for the current year:

$20 for one child or
$19 for the first sibling and
$18 for the second sibling

The daily fee for each month is due on the first day of the month and you are responsible to pay for the days your child is registered to attend.

Scholarships may be available through the church for those who have difficulty meeting the cost.

Ages three to five.
